Speech Therapy

Expressing oneself effectively is crucial, and at Apple Valley Center, our Speech & Language Therapy program plays a pivotal role in addressing challenges related to language and communication. This program is designed to help children improve their verbal, non-verbal, and social communication skills. 

In our Special School, our Speech & Language Therapists, who are experts in the study of human communication development and disorders, offer specialized services to support children with diverse needs in speech, language, communication, and swallowing. We collaborate closely with families and other professionals, employing evidence-based practices to ensure the most positive outcomes for every child.

Our dedicated team of Speech & Language Therapists can assist with various challenges, including:

  • Childhood Apraxia of Speech
  • Dysarthria
  • Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders
  • Articulation Disorders
  • Phonological Disorders
  • Fluency Disorders
  • Voice Disorders
  • Language Disorders
  • Receptive and Expressive Language Disorder
  • Selective Mutism
  • Learning Disabilities (Reading, Spelling, and Writing)
  • Pragmatic (Social) Communication Disorder

Additionally, we address other challenges such as:

  • Oral and Motor Disorders: Including weak oral muscles and oral sensitivity.
